Aflatoxins are secondary metabolic products of the fungi species Aspergillus flavus, parasiticus and nomius. These types of fungi most frequently occur in humid, tropical regions. Agricultural products become contaminated in the cultivating countries. Aflatoxins are among the strongest, naturally occurring carcinogenic substances.
